 Melody W. Townsend is the founding principal of Townsend Financial Planning, an independent financial planning firm located in Mount Sterling, Kentucky. Melody focuses on providing Fee-Only financial planning, investment advice and second opinions to individuals and families from all income levels and walks of life.
Melody is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Morehead State University. She is a member of the Kentucky Financial Planning Association (FPA) and served as a Board Member from 2005 - 2008.
To enhance her financial advisory practice, Melody is a member of the Garrett Planning Network, an international affiliation of professional financial planners with a common goal: To provide independent, objective financial planning and advice to all people, regardless of their net worth or income level.
Many financial advisors accept clients only if they meet certain income and net worth requirements. Melody and her fellow Garrett Network members believe, however, that independent, objective financial advice is something all Americans need, at least periodically, to build the brightest financial futures. Holding to this philosophy, Melody is proud to offer the same quality, professional advice to all clients, not just the affluent.
Melody has always felt that her true calling is to serve as a personal financial planner. “In many households there is a great deal of stress surrounding the topic of money and most middle-income earners do not know that there is someone willing to help answer their financial questions. I want to help open the communication lines regarding money, help them determine their goals and then see how we can reach them. I truly believe that with planning comes peace.”
While she enjoys spending time with her husband and family on their farm, Melody’s professional goal is to build long-term relationships with her clients based on trust and integrity, and to expand her business through referrals from satisfied clients.
